Road navigation

The steering was developed for the purpose of research at Wageningen University for Public Works and Water Management into the possibilities of automating the daily maintenance of roads. In a demonstration it was shown that with this control the robot platform could sweep the edge of a road based on the digital geo-information from Rijkswaterstaat of this road. Because the controls were thoroughly tested in the “Hardware-in-the-loop simulation”, only one practical test was needed at the demo location before the actual demonstration could be given.
